Welcome

TCNJ’s Presidents’ Climate Commitment Committee (PC3) was established upon the signing of the American College & University Presidents’ Climate Commitment (ACUPCC) by former President Gitenstein in the Spring of 2007. The committee has since transitioned into formal governance, now officially operating as TCNJ’s Environmental Sustainability Council.

The ESC serves as an advisory group to provide input to the strategic planning concerning College facilities, grounds, and emissions so as to continually improve the college’s environmental sustainability and green profile. The council assists with implementation of goal 4 under priority #4 of the Strategic Plan – Incorporate sustainability practices into all academic, administrative, recreational and residential operations of the College. The council acts as a resource to the educational programming of the College including opportunities for community engaged learning. The Council, consisting of TCNJ faculty, staff, and students, has been engaged with a variety of projects and initiatives working towards climate neutrality for the TCNJ campus.

If you are working on a project to reduce TCNJ’s greenhouse gas emissions or more generally promote environmental sustainability, we would like to hear from you. As well, we would like to know about faculty or student research relevant to the environment. Please contact ESC co-chairs Shannon Graham or Paul Romano to keep the College community informed about sustainability initiatives.
